Who these terms are between

These terms apply to tours arranged by Yay Tours, based in Geneva, Switzerland, and to everyone travelling on a tour you book. If anything here is unclear, ask us through the contact form before you book — not after.

The short version

You write to us, we agree a day together, and nothing is booked until we both say so in writing. Cancel more than 24 hours before and you pay nothing. Every tour can be changed to suit you, and we will tell you honestly if something you want is not possible.

Booking a tour

There is no online checkout. You tell us what you are after through the contact form, we come back to you with whether the day works, what it involves and what it costs, and the tour is booked only once we confirm it to you in writing.

Tell us anything that affects the day when you book rather than on the morning: how many of you there are, mobility or health needs, dietary requirements, young children, or anywhere you particularly want to go. Most of it we can plan around, given notice.

Paying

We do not take payments through this website, and we will never ask you for card details by email. How and when you pay is agreed directly with us when the tour is confirmed.

Changing or cancelling

Cancel more than 24 hours before the tour starts and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours, the tour is chargeable in full — by then the day is held for you and the vehicle and guide are committed.

To change or cancel, write to us through the contact form as early as you can. Where we can move you to another date instead, we would rather do that.

If we have to change something

Mountain roads close, passes shut in winter, weather turns and attractions have their own opening hours. We may need to alter a route, reorder the stops or substitute part of the day, and we will always do that in the interest of your safety and enjoyment, and tell you as soon as we know.

If we have to cancel a tour outright for reasons outside our control, we will offer you another date or return what you have paid.

What we need from you

Our days involve short walks, sometimes on uneven ground, so a reasonable level of mobility is needed. Tell us in advance if that is a concern and we will say plainly whether the tour suits you.

Our vehicles are non-smoking, e-cigarettes included. We may end a tour early if someone's behaviour puts their own safety, anyone else's, or the driver's at risk.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend travel insurance covering cancellation, medical costs and personal belongings. We are not insurers, and we cannot cover the cost of a trip you are unable to take.

Our responsibility

We take real care over the days we run. What we cannot be responsible for is things genuinely outside our control — weather, traffic, strikes, an attraction closing, or your own travel arrangements to and from Geneva. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Swiss law that cannot be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Geneva.

Changes to these terms

If we change how we work, we will update this page and the date at the top. The terms that apply to your tour are the ones in force on the day we confirmed your booking.
